Surely you jest. I've already seen the entire show more times than I can count. I'm just watching the good parts. Fillers are only a pain if the show isn't finished yet, otherwise I can just skip them. Quite a nonsensical argument in this case, no?

So it's not part of the DBZ plot. Nor is it part of the original DBZ storyline. It's a filler using characters found in the DB storyline, which appear and disappear in their own saga, and are not seen again in the original sagas that were part of the DBZ storyline. To prove this point:
In the Garlic Jr. Saga, Gohan and Krillin are fighting two of the bad guys but are unable to beat them. Krillin gets badly injured and falls from Kamis lookout to earth. Gohan attempts to go after him but is stopped by the two opponents. He flips out using his hidden power, beats the two, and goes after Krillin aftwards. Yet in the Perfect Cell saga, when Gohan tries to explain to Cell why Goku puts so much faith in him, and elaborates on his hidden power and the times it has come to help during tough situations (Saiyan Saga, Frieza Saga), there is no mention of his use of his hidden ability from the Garlic Jr. Saga. Yet all the other times where he used his hidden ability are mentioned.
Your point stays invalid, as it is not a part of the DBZ plot.
