I knew we weren't significant, but this is just plain amazing. I wish we've mastered near-light speed manned travel, I would love to see the eagle nebula up close. _________________

It's funny how we've learned so much about the universe through all of our telescopes and satellites yet no human has ever traveled beyond the moon.
Also, how do we know the size of our universe? If we know the size does that mean we know whats beyond it?

We don't. That's just about as far as we know.
We don't know the size or we don't know what's beyond it?

We can't even completely see our universe, as they are over 14.000.000.000 lightyears away, and our universe only exists 14.000.000.000 years.
We need light to see. When light reflects on an object, we can see it. But light takes a while to travel. The distance light makes in one year, is called a lightyear.
When our universe will exist 15.000.000.000 years, we will be able to see the things that are 15.000.000.000 lightyears away from us.
The size of our universe has been calculated though. But we have no proof, so the calculations could be completely wrong.

The truth is human are incapable of thinking in terms of infinity. This is also the only flaw in math.
It's not that we're incapable of thinking in terms of infinity. We do it all the time in mathematics. It's simply that since we do not experience the infinite in our lives our intuition can be incorrect regarding the infinite.
