I bought my self a good desktop about a month or two ago and everything was going spectacular until a party came along and the thing went bye-bye because someone dropped a bottle and it splashed all over the thing(was in living room, on a bottom shelf. )

I no longer have my old laptop, and I dislike how inconvenient a desktop is for my lifestyle, so I'm going back to laptops.

How good is this?

or.... what's a good laptop that I can get for under $1k?
(Not a strong gamer, but it's on my list of things that I want my laptop to handle)

Thought that was a dream deal until I saw this.

That looks like a pretty good laptop, great for normal use, but i don't think its going to be able to handle many games because of the Intel GPU. If you're not going to be gaming, then this is a great choice.

Edit: Here are some that you might like.

If I can keep playing Fallout 3 on relatively good settings, then I'm fine. 0.0
How well would I be able to handle F3 with this laptop?

You probably won't be able to run Fallout 3 on this laptop, Im not sure if it will even run on low. (The Intel GPU's aren't really built for gaming)

It's pretty over budget, but just for research purposes you can look at the laptop I'm getting:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220695
It's powerful enough to run literally any game that currently exists, or do other stuff like media editing.

This has a 1.6GHz cpu and why is this not "ancient"?

This is good as long as you aren't gaming. From what I seen on AMD's side, the athlon II Neo is their new cool notebook cpu. I only recently even heard about it so tell me how late I am.

Because apparently to them an Intel quad core is better than an AMD quad core. lol

I would think an i7 performance with a 1.6 clock is better than a P II x4 at 1.6ghz. If you think the clock speed makes the performance than you are kind of dumb.

Well yeah intel and AMD clock differently, but that doesn't matter because the laptop has an overclock button on it that ramps up to 2.1 or something.

I personally fan AMD/ATI overall, but I still think the i7 would be better. Not to mention dat 5870.

f'sho bro, reviews say it can run crysis and then run tf2 on an external monitor together, max settings.

God damot. I know this is sort of off-topic, but I have an AMD athlon desktop with 1.80 GHZ clock speed, 2 GB of DDR ram. Would you consider that decent or shit?
