Honestly that isn't so great. I'd like at least 60.

Within the next few months the price will be cut by almost half due to new cards being prepared for launch. That is one nice thing with video cards, prices drop fast since the technology is always advancing. Wait a few months and you can find this on Newegg for 1/2 off probably.

Nvidia really needed this. People will be more willing to buy it and its decent power.

Honestly though, why do we need a new series of gfx cards already? Both nvidia and ati need to take a short break, maybe work on drivers so stable an earthquake couldn't move the pc they are installed to.

All of ATi's drivers have been stable for me, maybe it's your hardware+software setup interfering?

I never said mine were unstable. I love how you assume nonsense. The problem with ATI drivers as of now, is any OC forces the card to idle at those clocks. So if I set my shit for 750mhz, it idles at 750mhz.

Are you sure? I just tested what you said (GPUz sensors+EXPERTool) and I overclocked my GPU and it's idling right now at 500Mhz core 990mhz mem, and while the oc is for 690 core 1100 mhz mem (the max imposed by the gBIOS). Still idling at 500/990... I think as I stated again more than likely (now) that it's your setup haha.

Pretty freakin sure. With CCC upping it the little you can it idles ate core clocks. See, no 3d apps running, my core clocks should be 160/250. Instead, its 650 and 1000. With other programs like MSI afterburner, they lock at those clocks.

You should really check out EXPERTool ( i can upload if you can't find it), it's alot better w/o all that god damn CCC bloat.

Also a 4870?

Model of your gpu(brand name)

Mine's a sapphire, I think it might possibly be your software or a BIOS issue.

Brand new sapphire 4850 512mb. This did not happen on 10.4 drivers, and I have already confirmed with some others it happens to their cards. It could indeed be a bios factor. And not my mobo bios, because I have tried every bios. I found F4 bios to be the best out of them all and its actually the one that adds the ID for my cpu. My board supported the cpu without the bios update though. This happened on the original bios too.
