A power supply like this one will last you forever. | Thats the shit I have, and they are known to have high fail rates. Nice going man. You won't get a hardcore psu for less than 100 bucks anyway. |
I have t he 700w version, which works like a charm. The 500w version got good enough reviews for me to assume that it's probably just as good as it's big brother, I'm wrong? | Its not that its bad. For its ratings is decent enough. People have reported it fails if it passes its efficiency rate % in power usage. So if it uses more than 80% it could fail. I had issues with it but it turned out the plug was falling out the back. Haven't had a problem since xD. Anyway, never cheap out on a psu. Mine cost 70 bucks actually. I never got that rebate. |
Well, yeah. A 500w power supply can't pull more power than 500 watts. If the efficiency is 85%, say, than when your system needs 85 watts, the power supply is actually drawing 100 watts. Meaning, when your computer needs 425 watts, it's drawing 500. In the rare case that your system actually would actually need over 425 watts (never) the PSU would have to draw more power than 500, which it can't do.

41A on the 12V rail, 80% efficiency and also it's 50 dollars (with shpping) this would be the best bet tbh
This can powered a hd 5850 | Enjoy your fireworks, bro.

Enjoy my fireworks?
I like how your all worrying about brand, watts, and reviews. You look at AMPS on the +12V rail and the weight (the capacitors bro) and then the reviews. Also I have been running it on a quad core setup with 4gb of ddr3 ram, 1tb hdd, and a 5770 for 4 months, the power supply is barely warm to the touch.
Also, don't be an amatuer.

Actually, if you research this power supply it was made by someone else ;]
I like also how the fact you don't include a source, inb4 newegg reviews, and you probably sources you have link to older (yes crapier) PSUs made by them. Mind you check out the Green Series by them.
Enjoy your corsair brand rippoffs

Rosewell don't make shit for them self, they just rebrand shit from other company and uses low grade caps.
their recent releases are OK at best, but not the best still.

Enjoy your corsair brand rippoffs | I have OCZ. Any more to fail? Besides, I would choose cooler master over corsair.

I have a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341012&cm_re=OCZ-_-17-341-012-_-Product
Which is OCZ which for me is awesome. ( also got my rebate , FINALLY)
It was good for me but it looks like for some its horrible.
I think corsair has good PSUs. Coolermasters are also good.

They both make epic PSU. OCZ more expensive ones are great, but the mod stream ones have been giving not so great reviews. They have gotten better in the passed year or 2, but overall I have talked to people saying they had a bad failure rate.

Yeah it is wrong, it's called peak power bro (mine can do 630w for 60 seconds and thats the rosewill 530w) I like how all these amateurs think they know about computers.
