Its like linux so I guess wine right? As for drivers, I'm positive they aren't optimized like the ones for windows as they are for gaming.

ATI drivers for 5x and 4x series are supported, although NVidia does it better at that point, but who gives a shit.
Also

If games you mean Touhou games with Wine, then yes. there might be eventually Steam for Linux
Don't expect any DirectX emulated games

Pretty sure WINE provides a DirectX wrapper, at least for older versions

I don't plan on switching to linux till I am completely out of my game stage. I like the way it works and I have a lot of skill with the terminal.

It's not impossible to play games on Linux.

Not really true. Given proper installation of video drivers, lots of newer games are more than playable using Wine.

This forum really isn't for Linux-recon I suppose. Don't expect much.

Wine is no where near as good as using virtualbox on Linux and just running Windows through that. Also bootcamp on macs allow you to do the same thing. I know that then you aren't truly running the Linux OS but you could use a virtual OS to run those games if you really NEED it.

Linux is pretty cool but you'd be best to dual boot Windows. It's not impossible to run games on Linux but it's rarely worth the hassle.

Exactly this.

If you want to see if a game will work on linux, you can usually find out(and find out how much of a hassle it will be if it's going to be one) by going to winehq, and go to the Apps DB. Otherwise just google it. I managed to get a good number of games working before installing a fourth linux OS that fucked up on it's bootloader, and I haven't gone back to fix it Sad (That or it corrupted the boot sequences of all the others, in which case I'm going to be pretty irritated... took a while to get them all set up >_> )
