i got a theory similar to that.
The white light can be explained by shock or an overload of the senses, particularly the eyes.
---
When i crashed today, i got pulled forward fairly hard. Your vision feels squeezed and shit. You see white dots and sparks all over the place afterwards. I assume it was because of some oxygen deprivation or the quick activation of para/sympathetic nervous systems which flood your body with hormones and shit.
---
The "life flashes before my eyes" things that people describe can be explained by what you stated. The brain tries to make sense of what is happening. Your memories are pretty much scattered everywhere. As you start to lose sensation, the brain tries to stay active. Similarly to what happens in a dream where memories resurface through random images cuz of no brain activity and brain tries to make sense of crap, this can happen if all senses are fading out. Since memory is probably the last thing to go since it's all over the place, it's what you last experience.
death is a weird yet interesting topic if you're into neurology and thanatology :0

| Why would the brain send a massive amount of electric signals if one is enough to shut down a body part? Why would it keep sending them if the body part(s) is already shut down? This would cost more energy, which in term would make the brain last shorter.

>Massive amount of signals
Tell me how many muscles and organs do you have? Isn't that many?(Excluding heart and lungs(well I dunno if they're shut down aswell but they're needed as much as the brain))

| My theory is that as you're dying, the electric signals go crazy and light up the light bulb in your head (the one when you get ideas) and that's the light you see.

The brain is the main organ or w.e you call it in the body. It is YOUR source to living if we did not believe in a soul.
Now, before you die, the brain goes out LAST. Let's say you got 2 minutes to live.
In these 2 minutes, the brain will do this;
"WTF IS HAPPENING?" said the brain.
"Let's shut down all the other body parts until we last so we survive till the end" said the brain.
While the brain is doing that, you have 50 seconds to live, and here comes the LIGHT.
Now, SUPPOSEDLY, this white light is a light which enters you into heaven or lift's u in heaven or has something to do with HEAVEN.
But here is HOW I believe this is BULL SHIT and how I believe there is sadly no HEAVEN or HELL.
This supposed LIGHT happens before you die, right? Did I NOT SAY that the brain shuts down other parts or functions of these parts as it is panicking to survive and be the last one to die?
While the brain is panicking, it is sending mass COMMANDS which is the ELECTRIC SIGNALS to other parts/functions across the body! It is sending so much SIGNALS that your eyes start to fuck up as the brain is literally saying "FUCK YOU EYES, YOU GONE". While your eyes are fucking up, you start to literally see all this ELECTRIC signals. Trust me, the brain sends out MASS SIGNALS, thus you should see light before you die which is theoretically these signals...
I do believe in heaven, just my theory.
If you do not believe that this happens, go dip yourself in the winter in a lake for 10 minutes, MUST BE FREEZING COLD.
Happened by mistake to me, my body part's shut off due to brain trying to survive, I saw like .1% light, but survived as my fucking brother finally realized I was missing.
Thank you for reading this yet confusing theory.
Also WTF IS THIS GRADE 7 SHIT ON THE RS PAGE. GTFO U GRADE 7 LITTLE FAGGOTS.
INB4 some retard comes in and say's, ELECTRICITY DOES NOT PRODUCE LIGHT...YES IT DOES DUMB ASSES. |
people can be brain-dead and still live.

My theory is you see what you believe you are going to see. When you die it is whatever you believe in (Heaven, reincarnation, etc)
Because life would be fun that way.

Well it's not imaginable. When you die you lose your conscience. And your conscience is all you have. When you sleep you don't remember what happens, if you pass out you don't know what's happening around you. Therefore when your brain dies, unless something like a soul exists, you will cease to exist as well and there will be nothing. You wont be writing on this board, you wont be 3rd person viewing the world you wont be thinking. Nothing, just like when you sleep except for there being no waking up again nor any dreams.

Basically when you dream is when your brain has entered sleep-mode but doesn't shut down completely. You will relive/experience stuff you want to/don't want to(nightmares) and you will sleep heavier. Thus without a brain you wont dream.(Unless, again, something like a soul exists and it sleeps/maintains your brain then it would be possible to dream)

You don't dream when you're dead. Your brain gives off specific brain waves when you're in REM sleep(dreaming). These aren't found in the brain of a dead person :0
PS: The soul doesn't exist. Consciousness is the byproduct of how humans evolved. To be more precise on how consciousness develops, take a look at the language centers of your brain(frontal lobe), the motor cortex responsible for movement(mainly your fingers), the walking/balance centers(cerebellum), and sight(the occipital lobe).
The way that these areas are located around the brain allowed more exchange in neural activity which in turn allowed survival and the ability to communicate via speech. How exactly you communicate and why is all dependent on genetic/environmental factors when your brain was developing(1st years of life, and then again during teen years).
