I like the shading of the articuno but lines could use some retouching.

The second one looks like you, or 'your friend', used some filters on a pre-made image of pikachu.

Not really, unless they purposely only redrew some of the lines. The (slightly sloppy) hands and mouth are good identifiers.

No he drew the pikachu from scratch, didnt use any kind of tracing or what ever. Same with articuno, he put more time in the articuno than the pikachu.

Pikachu was copied, not from scratch. But it wasn't filtered. You can tell it wasn't filtered by comparing the fingers and tail from the original and the new.

well i meant like he didnt copy it but he just looked at it and drew it. So he did copy the way it is. but not like tracing, i mean you can look at the lines they are sloppy so galaxy got it right, he used it as a reference.

Copying the pose isn't the same thing as copying, or tracing.
