So when my friend was updating her laptop the power cord came out and now it doesn't work. She has tried system restore but it wont work, any suggestions?

Update, as in the Windows update? In what way did the laptop stopped working? Can you boot into Windows?

Reinstallation would clear all your problems, but I assume that's not what you'd want.

Yep, windows update. And it it just keeps loading (Left it on for about 2 hours and it was still loading)

This is why you should never set Windows update to automatic as if it fucks up, your basically fucked as well.

If you can get into safemode, get to software distribution folder and delete the updates from there, this will clear out the update record and hopefully let you get back into Windows.

If that does not work, well then like I've say as I'll repeat it, your fucked...

Just delete the contents inside the downloads folder.
