It's a 5.9 (out of 7.5) right now, so I'm pretty ashamed of it. That's all going to change soon, though. I believe the RAM is not running at the advertised speeds, so I'm going to change that in the BIOS as soon as my backup is complete. Then I'm going to overclock my CPU. |
even if you overclock is still going to be 5.9 unless you change your HDDs |
Yes, I reckon that WEI is kind of retarded.
The max most people can get is 5.9 because of HDD's.
They put WEI in Vista before SSD's went main stream.

They put WEI in Vista before SSD's went main stream. | The 5.9 limitation on hard drives is due to the hard drive being SATA I. Even an SSD will only get a 5.9 if it is SATA I.

Because I can learn. Why spend 200 bucks get an "ok" motherboard and then have to replace it with a newer one later? Mine's as future proof as you can get, as I'm sure you're aware of.

Not that Windows' arbitrary-as-hell-yet-infallible MEASURE OF POWER is worth debate.

SATA 3.0Gb/s is "SATA II". "SATA I" is 1.5Gb/s, so I don't know what you're going on about elpacco.

Not that it matters since even the fastest mechanical drives (Spinpoint F3 for continual read/write speed at the moment) only reach a fraction of the potential speed of even a sata I connection. If Windows' MEASURE OF POWER counts off for a sata I connection over sata II then that's fucking stupid.
