So it's 12:03AM here.

I hear one of my doggies running around the house and barking downstairs. I go down to open the door for her thinking that she might want to pee or poop outside. Well, that's not the case. My other dogs that stay outside are snarling loudly. There's a disturbing screeching sound followed by more snarls and barking.

Lisa, my oldest malamute who stays indoors, in a corner away from the door that leads outside in my kitchen. I turn on the lights to see what the deal is. I look outside through a window and find that there's blood on one of my dogs paws.

I grab a knife and slowly open the door to leave.

First heart stop:
-Claire steps into the kitchen and asks who's there. I jump in surprise and nearly stab my self with the knife.

Second heart stop:
-I open the door to my side yard. Something thuds against it. The entire floor is smeared with blood and fur. I think my dog was just attacked. First thought is that i get pissed off and nearly bash open the door.

Third heart stop:
-Upon closing it, i find a mangled ball of fur and blood outside my door's step. I nearly cried if i had not realized that it was actually a dead raccoon and not a piece of my doggies T_T


heart attack moment:
-I come back with a bag to throw this thing away. As I reach down and grab it's tail with the bag, the thing starts thrashing around in pain but dies when i drop it onto the floor as i jumped backwards.

My neighbor's tree had a couple of raccoons in it. Every once in a while they sneak down to eat my dog's food if i forget to throw it away before night.

it must have come down and woken them up.
