If you ever watch another Anime, don't think twice about Gurren Lagann. It's the only Anime series I've been able to sit through every single episode with.

If you want to be safe, just watch Code Geass. I don't think I've met anyone who hasn't liked it.
Haibane Renmei is a 13 episode short series. In my experience, with 13 episode anime, you either love them or hate them. There isn't really an in between. Watch it later if you want to, after Code Geass, just remember to not watch the English dub.

I will watch it now since it is short. I will then watch gogodrs recommend if I feel that yours proves not satisfactory (though I will admit the story seems unique). Code Geass is too long, and I think I gave it a shot once but it just did not seem to hit the spot. Will rewatch the first couple of episodes and reassess MAYBE.
