#1I made a bet with my teacher ITC that i could open the cmd.exe on our school computers. Soo can anyone tell me or give me hints and such how to open the cmd.exe. We are running on windos xp proffesinal if that matters. also if i go to start(windos bottem left conor) i cant find search/cmd.exe

i tought of either starting up the pc and go in protected windows mode and see what happends, didnt try it yet.

#2. Can anyone explain me what are all the things i can do with cmd.exe i heard i can basicaly control the whole pc with it.Soo i am requesting some info about it. Thx

Lets hope you guys can help me on this one!

One easy way to do it is by creating a simple .bat file, storing it on a flash drive, then using it to open any file you might want.

All you need to put in your .bat file is:
Code:
@echo off
command*com

The .bat file above will open command prompt for you, bypassing any access restrictions. In most cases this technique will work.

Either put some random file and rename it to cmd.exe on your computer...

or

Put your cmd.exe (copy) from your computer onto the flash drive.

Then put it on the schools computer. viola!

NielsMorsink, if you open up cmd you can type /help or /? to get a list of all commands there is. About controlling the computer that depends a little bit on how much access you have and the settings of your computer.

I don't think that you'll be able to hack very much or cause damage unless ofc you have adminsitrate rights.

Best regards KaninKnull.

COMMAND.COM is easiest. Though I see no reason as to why you would need to have ANY access to it in school.

Nice thing to do is this "fake virus" scam. Quite funny, and looks like a hardcore virus if people don't know shit about PC's.

Code:
@echo off
color a
msg * You are now Infected. Have Fun :D
msg * Virus is now deleting your Harddrive
dir/s C:\

color a
- Changes the textcolor into light-green (haxor!)
msg * - Creates a messagebox with text
dir/s - Scans the directory.
dir/s C:\ - scans the C drive. Completely harmless, but looks freakin virus-haxor-like to people who know nothing of pc's.

Just save it as a text.bat file, and run it.
Simple, but can really scare the crap out of some people. Feel free to change the messages, or completely remove them :b The important thing is the color a and dir/s :)

Another funny one is

Code:
Shutdown -s -t 60 -c "You're running out of time, Mr.Freeman .."

Will pop up a box, that's gonna shut down the PC in 60 seconds, and you can't close it. It also says Freeman is running out of time :b. Only way to abort this is to open a batch, or Run, and type in
Code:
Shutdown -a

If you know the computername, of a certain PC you want to shutdown, you can add -m <computername> , and you will remotely shut down that one PC :)
If you don't know the computername, then on your pc run Shutdown -i. Then you can look up the other PC's and edit everything there, it's an interface :)

You can change the Shutdown -s with Shutdown -r , then it restarts ..

Good luck messin' around with your schools PC's.
