I tried installing A-squared but it needed internet connection to register or something. However it uses IE to connect to the internet, and IE doesn't work. So I couldn't use A-Squared.
I tried Autoruns to find the DLL discussed in the article, but I couldn't find it.
I am so confused. | Let me ask you 4 questions:
1. Are you willing to go to extreme measures to fix yer problemo?
2. Do you have any partitioning software (or gparted)
3. Do you have an XP disk
4. Do you have a lot of time on your hands.
If yes, you could install XP to another partition and install a-squared or whatever you need to scan the drive on the other partition. If anyone has a less extreme idea, please post it.
Why did I say all that?

What is this?
Make sure no suspicious entries like that run upon startup; check your registry in regards. (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, etc)
| Code: | | O20 - Winlogon Notify: vtUopNGa - vtUopNGa.dll (file missing) |
It seems as if you've had a previous virus there, which was supposedly the Vundo (Virtumondo) virus. Feel free to search it up upon a search engine for more information.
I'd recommend downloading and running ComboFix and see if that fixes your issues and maybe try reinstalling Internet Explorer. If you have Internet Explorer 8 (8.0.6001.18702), replace this with your current one:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/u0oxvn
Yes, I had uploaded mine. And if you don't have 8.0 installed or my corresponding version, uninstall currently what you have now and install the latest.
Also, it might also not be sourced from an executable file but rather from a .dll file, such as it uses the .dll files to hook upon startup. Therefore, check through this particular registry key: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellExecuteHook and see if there are any unusual or unknown .dll files. Delete them if found and search the filenames upon registry searching as there might be more results.
And you can always search for strange filename entries in your %SYSTEM32% and %WINDOWS% directories of which usually tend to be a low file size.
Hope this helps your situation.

Okay I somehow fucked up real bad. When I restarted right now, Data Execution Prevention is closing Windows Explorer. So I can only access the internet.
I want to run System Restore, but I do not know how without Explorer.
I can access run with Task Manager so if I knew the process of System Restore, I could possibly do it.
EDIT:
Okay, somehow I have 2 explorer.exe in my \Windows\.
Both of them result in the DEP Error, but one of them has to be a virus.
EDIT:
Okay somehow I got explorer.exe open. I used USB Anti virus to open containing folder of what I thought was avirus, and somehow explorer.exe opened. o-o

So yeah. | UBCD4win. If you burn the one for linux, you wasted a CD.
@Drkgodz
Try safe mode. I always do my System restores in that (I had the same explorer.exe problem.) After your restore, run a full scan. Something could be left over on the system.

I think I'm going to format and install W7. My computer is messed up beyond repair IMO.
I can't even boot into safe mode.

I can't even boot into safe mode. | Can't even boot into safe mode? That means something that you need was infected. Yeah, reformat.

i had iexplorer and Explorer, they are both viruses. and painfully annoying, atleast the virus i got.
format is only option.
i deleted countless times, they came back. paid a guy 100 bucks at best buys. 8 weeks later (they suck) it was still there
format is the only option
