People go to see them so they can feel the ground shake from them, and hear it in a way you can't from a video/TV. I personally like going to see them, but we didn't go this year, car needs work and it's too far to drive on a bad axle.

I got to see them because on marco island its like a 2million dollar Display which lasts like 35mins if you cant sit on a beach and watch kick ass fireworks for 45mins (yes u have to wait a lil befor they go off), then u sir have no life.
and its just better to see them in person the array of wonderful colors and the massive sounds repelling off buildings plus the people everywhere and among that friends and family its a time of enjoyment a holliday of fun

i always just go to mcdonalds on the 2nd, which is about a 5 minute drive away.
a holiday inn is right next to said mcdonalds, which is right next to the field where they are set off. so, i always go feast then chill in the holiday inn parking lot for the show.

Its like Guy Fawkes Night in England. But so many people walk to the nearest heath that we have which is Blackheath Common which is about 1-ish mile away. But cos streets are so packed everyone is walking there. Very popular event.

It's really just the sound that appeals to me of real life fireworks. Definitely worth it but maybe not if the drive takes you an hour...

I go because it reminds me of when I was a kid and went to see fireworks. Plus it's romantic

I was actually in New York for my vacation and we were their on 4th of July and I got to see the fire works straight up, it was pretty nice. But you Amercians don't celebrate your national day so much, compared to where I am from.

| I would much prefer, if it were still legal, to set off my own fireworks in my backyard or somewhere else with some friends. It may be nice to watch fireworks on a beach or marina or w/e, but nothing 4th of July beats the joy of lighting your own fireworks in your own creative way.
