Here's a fun one for you monkeys. (Note, this works with any sequential numbers in the Fibonacci sequence.)

If you 'cut up' a square into these parts and rearrange

A=21*21
=441

A=34*13
=442

It appears we have gained a unit in the process Razz

And solving the unsolvable is one of the things I used to enjoy in class.
I'd write miles of conversions, basicly looping but with different variables/orders, slipping a mistake in there and solving it ^^

1/3 in decimal form is obviously 0.333...

if you take
1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 you get 1.
if you take 0.333... + 0.333... + 0.333... you get 0.999...

just proves how inacurate decimals can be Mad

the recurring one is easy to figure out.

let x = 0.99999.....

10x = 9.999999....
9x = 9
x = 1

it's obvious though really if you look at it another way.. think what is the difference between it and 1. since the 9s recur to infinite then there is no difference
