Cheat Engine

When I open the process window I don't have "tutorial" anywhere. I do have a few entries for Cheat Engine.
I't's really hard to get started when even the very first step isn't there.
Please Advise.

I finally figured out how to do step 2 in the tutorial (not liking being called a loser by my puta either!), now maybe Im missing something very obvious but in step 3 where it says: choose as scantype
'Unknown initial value': I don't see 'Unknown initial value' in the scantype drop down selection at all. Am I doing looking in the wrong place? doesnt look good fer me if Im having problems at this early stage.

the game im trying to hack uses simple .ini files to set the values or certain things.

when i search for the known value of 0.92 it shows me nearly 30 addresses. I don't know which one it is!

but since i have the .ini file to look at. i know the value that 0.92 is, is 'grip_point1'.

i've found how to search for text and find 'grip_point1', but what i need to know is... Is there a way to find what address that grip_point1 is pointing to to make the value 0.92?

did that make any sense at all?

Ok, I'm up to step 9 of the tutorial (been using CE to cheat anyway) using Cheat Engine v6.3

Comments: Overall the tutorial is confusing in that it tells you to do many things with the assumption you have intimate and working knowledge of the Cheat Engine application already. Not exactly helpful for a tutorial in that regard as the whole point is to learn the application. This issue is further exacerbated by the fact over time the Cheat Engine application itself has changed and the workings are slightly different or named differently than the Tutorial.

Don't get me wrong I think the tutorial is good, it just needs more work on the descriptions and on how to actually use the functions. The assumption should be someone who has never touched CE or any cheat tool or assembly before. In cases where it says Use Function X to find the Y, it would be helpful to explain how to start/enable/use Function X instead of assuming the user has intimate enough knowledge to find and use such functions. Just my opinion and we all know about those but I do think such clarity would help.

The OP did a good job clarifying some of that. So thanks to the OP.

ok i can do 1-6 easy but im stuck on 7 after i find what accessed ive got 4 result

the tutorial says "should be an address" meaning just 1?
