Hey i was wondering i have 4 gigs of ram and have 32 bit and my graphics card is a 512mb. I was wondering is there a limit to how much my graphics card can use? Because it uses 1.9gb right now, so if added more would it use that?

@iTz SWAT
What does that have to do with the topic? Either the topic is stated in a confusing way, or you're just posting exactly that.
@grimripper
If you mean a graphics processor that is pulling system RAM to allocate as its own, then you can change that in the BIOS. It would be pretty retarded to allocate even more system RAM to your GPU, as its ages slower than modern onboard VDRAM (referring to GDDR3 and GDDR5). You wouldn't see much of a performance increase, and most of the time, a game's textures don't take up that much space (when mipmaps are used).
If not, specify what you mean by the question.

For some reason I had read it totally wrong.
I thought he said I have 1.9GB and buying 4GB on a 32Bit OS.
And the video card is 512MB.
So I thought his question was How much Memory can Windows See...
So I said 3.0-3.3GB as a guess...

Sorry, let me rephrase I mean i have 4Gigs of ram on a 32 bit os, and I know the graphics card uses ram that i have left, so I was wondering if i added say another 2 gigs would it use more than 1.9 like it already does? or no.

I might be wrong, but the system takes use of 3.3GB RAM when you have 4GB, and then there's something with the GPU RAM that makes it so the system pulls all the 4GB it can handle.
Again, I might be wrong.

You can address 4gb of space under 32 bit.
Obviously your video ram (and a couple others) need to be mapped somewhere in memory, so do the math.

Oh.
I would recommend changing to x64, if you to get full advantage of your RAM, but I don't know what programs you're running, so don't take my word immediately.
But, to be honest, I don't know if your GPU can be better if you upgrade your RAM, because, if it was like that, you could just upgrade to x64, then buy a shitload of RAM, and then still have a awesome GPU that was new in 2007.

| When you say upgrade Ram do you mean you going to add 2GB of RAM totaling 6GB or adding another graphics card that's 2gb totaling 4GB of GPU memory?
