Hello, once again I ask for help of the cheatengine community.

I recently came up with the smart idea of making a dual boot with both windows 7 and windows xp. The reason for it was that windows 7 was 64-bit and thus couldnt run every program, so I thought to add windows xp 32-bit to it on a different partion of my HDD.

The problem is more or less that I can no longer start up my computer once the installation of windows xp is completed (windows 7 is my primary).

A couple of things I noticed were that during the installation of windows 7 I made 2 partitions of my HDD, one for 7 and one for xp, but some how both said to be primary (might be the problem?). Im a bit frustrated at the moment because I had to reformat my computer over 7 times now (first I did the english version several times as that matched my w7 language 3 times, but after that the dutch one 2 times and after that the english one 2 times with slight differences and a repair attempt).

Is there a way to solve this and have both windows 7 64-bit and windows xp 32-bit running on loose partitions or do I need a second HDD or will it just never work at all?

Little bit confusing what you're saying, but basically this:
Go into Windows XP setup and delete all the partitions. Make a new one with the size however large you want the install partition to be. You can just leave the rest as unallocated space.
After you have XP set up, run the Windows 7 install, using the unallocated space as the install location and install normally.
When you go to reboot, the Windows 7 boot manager should have an entry for "Older version of Windows". Note that if you install XP after Windows 7 you won't be given an option.

make windows 7 the active partition (99% it probably already is), use vista disk to repair boot menu and it should let you then either choose to boot win7 or continue the installation on winXP

How do I make windows 7 the active partition?
And is there no difference in what one you install first? Because I think I can follow Karakawe's advice though I dont really know what you mean by "When you go to reboot, the Windows 7 boot manager should have an entry for "Older version of Windows". "

Will try to install xp first today and then windows 7 and try to get it straight ^^. I'll let you know if it worked.

Edit: I installed windows 7 first now and then xp, at first windows 7 worked well, but after installing windows xp I can't dual boot (I can only boot in windows xp)

Another question: Can I import my internet settings from windows 7 to windows xp? As I just cant get the wizard for internet right :/ (posting this from somebody elseses computer.

you can only boot into windows xp because the vista boot loader isn't working or like i said, win7 isn't the active partition. To do this Boot from the Vista DVD and on the screen where you’re asked to “Install now”, select “Repair your computer”.

The next screen searches for Vista installations – there should only be one, click Next.

This looks for problems which would prevent Vista from loading (like a missing bootloader) and automatically fixes them.

when I say vista, I also refer to win7 since they have the same boot loader

Ok, I understand now, thanks for the help. It works as it should now with the selection screen.

The only question remaining is if importing internet settings from windows 7 to windows xp is possible, was I just cant get past the setup wizard (not the right modem in the list and I never heard of a regional/area number).

You need to install your LAN or modem driver. Find it on the computer's manufacturer's site.

That is why you need to install XP first..

Never mind, internet is working (a bit slow, but it does work on the xp partition). Downloaded the drivers from my motherboard instead.

And I did install xp first the last time, but in my last reply I already said that, thanks for the thought though.
