How dangerous is Spyware? Someone in my house got spyware on my comp and Im cleaning it right now. Im just curious how bad can spyware be? Should anyone who accessed the computer for email or bank change their passwords, etc? Or does spyware just mess with your computer's settings, etc?

All help is welcome and thx

edit: it was a win32trojan agent

Depends on what, specifically, you were infected with. "Spyware" is a very general term, it all depends on what the original programmer wanted it to do.

Thanks for the help guys, I figured out what was what eventually. Turns out there was a virus which created a little pop up in the icon bar which kept spamming that a there was "spyware" found. Turns out it was a virus and this win32trojan was the least of my worries.

Good ol avast saved me again Crying or Very sad , and thanks for the help, to all of you(seriously)!

Well avast worked for me, so Im gunna take some more chances with it, once it fails me I guess then ill move on. AVG messed up my comp once so I wouldn't use that, maybe kaspersky but... well money is an issue atm so maybe in the future unless another better software is introduced Rolling Eyes

There's a beta for ESET Smart Security (or was, you'd have to check if it's still going on).

Use comodo firewall to keep it at bay and use the antivirus to delte it or any other antivirus.
