start tutorial.exe which can be found in the folder where you installed CE, or use the startmenu entry in CE folder called "Cheat Engine Tutorial".
It should guide you through the tutorials. Just ask if you have problems with any of the steps.

why when i look for the health in step 4 it give me something like 99.5 but i put 99 nothing came out is this the correct way?
When i put like that nothing is found

ya..me too..stuck at the same place,step 5. the tutorial said
that the next button should be clickable when the steps was
done but i cant get it. ce then show an error. anyone could help?

Step 4:
:start new scan
:type in value for health
:Select value type which is Float for health
:I had truncated selected on the right
:click first scan(I got several addresses)
:click change health on tutorial
:click next scan(I had 2 addresses)
:I click change health again on tutorial
:Still had 2 address(selected the one that matched)
:right click the one that is a match and select browse this memory region
:right click first byte at address in your list and select edit
:change value type to Float here also
:type in new number(5000 I think it was)
:click ok
:repeat same steps for ammo but use value type Double
(when I scaned for ammo the address would pop up with the correct value for a second, then it would change to a crazy long decimal number but it was still the right one)

Step 5:(search 2 bytes, you should end up with one address after 2 clicks)
I assume you know how to search at this point.
a: right click the address in your address list(at the bottom)
b: select "Find out what writes to this address", the opcode window will open
c: click the change value button on tutorial.exe
d: an address should appear in the Opcode window
e: highlight address found in the opcode window, click add to code list
f: the Advanced Options/Code List window will open
g: highlight the address in the code list window and select replace with code that does nothing
(if you close the code list window by mistake you can reopen it by
clicking the advanced options button in the bottom left corner of CE)
h: click change value on tutorial.exe once more and your done
I have had close tutorial.exe and CE and end task on tutorial.exe after getting and error in tutorial .exe and start all over(forgot write down my passwords)

say my value(xxx) is located at 008F517C, and I add this to my code list
then I right click and see what is writing to this address,
it gives: change of 00455df3 - 89 10 - mov [eax],edx
then I click the more information button and here is the info I get
>>00455df3 - 89 10 - mov [eax],edx
The value of the pointer .....
008F517C
EAX=008F517C
So I do a new scan 4 bytes Exact Value
it returns
Address Value
008F4F50 for a split sec it shows(008F517C) then changes to 008F7A88
I get the 008F7A88 every time no matter what addresses I get when I start over and it doesn't work as the pointer
am I doing something wrong here?
edit (problem solved, it was the address ending with zero that gave me the problems)
