there are single celled organisms that reproduce asexually.

there are single celled organisms that live in environments that humans wouldnt even last 2 seconds in.

There are single celled organisms responsible for most of our deadliests diseases caused by bacterial infections.

there are single celled organisms that aid us in making medicine.

clearly they have a purpose.

Everything has a function.

Stop trying to reflect human intelligence onto other types of intelligence.

If we were equal, we wouldn't be different.
