DO NOT ASK WHY I NEED THIS!!!,

LITERALLY, price limit = 12 grand

I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT SERVER COMPS... they confuse me more then rabbits breed...

do ANY of you know how to put one together

if so, here are your requirements
IT MUST ALL BE OFF NEWEGG
price limit - NOTHING!!! (ok, maybe try to keep under 12 grand)
MUST USE THIS MOBO
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813151089
also, i would like AS MUCH RAM as possible, try to max it out (64 gbs) but 32 would be fine
plz 3.0+ ghz proccesors (fill out all 4 of them)
and TONS of storage, like 4 tbs (dont ask) or how ever much this thing can hold
Also, please choose a server OS

Xeons 3.0+GHz. Make the newegg URL in your post a link.
If you're building a server, it really depends on what you're going to use it for. While 4 3.0GHz Xeons and 64 memory will work for anything, that doesn't make it necessary for everything.

Red Hat Enterprise?

But there aren't any 3.0GHz Socket F Opterons (without overclocking).

Cons: I thought I was going nuts over the first two weeks of ownership. First batch of bsods pointed to raid problems, the next batch seemd to point to acpi problems, then bios, then totally random crashes.. By that point I figured I had bad memory or insuff power. It turns out it was just the ram slots. It was hell troubleshooting that and finally getting it running stable. I had to re-seat every chip and push them all in to the point where I was afraid I'd break something with all the force I was using.

The RAID driver image utility that you boot into doesn't create a proper driver floppy for windows. It's missing files. I found a slightly newer version of the driver on the CD and just copied those files to a floppy and everything worked when installing windows.

Raid controller doesn't support arrays larger then 2tb. It may be a driver issue though as the bios shows 2tb+ but Windows only shows the remainder even with the latest drivers

You can't have Raid of 2TB+...
And according to The review it Bsod's alot...

From the web it's not, they say Q1 of this year.

As for the OP requirements the only Xeon i7 I see is the X5580 which runs at 3.2GHz while the X5570 runs at 2.93GHz thats 7MHz short of his requested speed.

Btw the Xeon X5580 will cost $1,600+ each.
