Comparing Vista to Windows 7 build 6801, here's what I see so far.

-Windows 7 has a improved UAC compared to Vista's. You get more control on it instead of just enable or disable.

-Windows 7 improved on its security messenging center. No more of that stupid yellow balloon pop up. What you get now is a lighthouse icon with a warning sign if your system needs attention.


Also it look like they have integrated the essentials into that one spot so users won't have to dig all over the place.
This includes: security center, error reporting, and Windows solution center.

Networking on the other hand compared to Vista went down a notch IMHO.
In Vista when you click on Network and sharing Center you see your connection status and right at the bottom, you see your sharing setting like Turn on Network discovery, Share your printer, etc.
For Windows 7 this is a category by itself.

-The troubleshooting center isn't a necessary feature if your a tech, but for the average people it's a nice touch to add that into Windows 7.

-Not sure why Microsoft would categorize classical themes as "ease of access" this sould like it's for the "disabled". :\

-Like the feature with IE 8 where you highlight a word and you can do a quick define for its meaning.


-The new Windows 7 taskbar does look nice (you have to do a workaround in order to enable it).

-Looks like Windows 7 use windows media player 12, since the interface has changed. btw, the version number says: 12.0.6801.7000

-Like the way how the new taskbar works.
If a user hasn't clear it's IE history, then they can do a quick access for the web page they recently visited.

-Parental controls hasn't change a bit for this build.
-Gadgets are now integrated to the desktop background. You won't see that "bar" once you hover the the gadget area.

-love startup boot screen, looks really cool.

-Copying files looks instant instead of like Vista where even after install SP1 you see get a feeling of "delay".

-The personalization center give you more detail setting you have picked.

-The display options has a better way of displaying the setting you want to have and the "send dispaly to projector" is a nice touch. Vista has projector settings, but it's not that easy to find it's settings.
Vista projector setting should be in Windows mobility Center, If I'm not mistaken.

-Vista defragment is gay, Windows7's is also simple, but at least you get to see some sort of status.

-And it looks like the internet games are back.

Overall from this build Windows 7 looks promising, let just hope the RTM version will be just as good or even better than this one.

Also when installing a game
on my vista it took like 10 mins
on my windows 7 it literally took like 60 seconds

Too bad i couldnt play it though lol
