i've been trying to do this and it shows its been connected to the internet, but the internet never works

Hmm... I had this same problem when I had my laptop and tried to use it at my mom's work. Is there a password?

this problem happened to me you just have use a different wire that connects your modem and computer like Ethernet or usb

Go into all your connections and see if theres a double LAN connection. My friend had this problem i fixed it for him there were 2 LAN connections set up, it showed that wire was connected but his other non-working one was set as default so windows tried to get internet from taht one but i got rif of the non-working one and everything went okay. Also this may happen with ZoneAlarm my dad had this problem uninstall it and get something else it you got one.
