vista uses around 800 for me too and i have 2gigs and i usually have aim firefox itunes opened so it goes to 1gig or so

check how much shared video memory your system is using in BIOS.
lower if to at most 1/4 of your total RAM, you probably dont need too much if you already have a video-card

2 gigs is fine. Even for vista 2 gigs is a decent amount.

As everyone else says, 2gb with vista is a bit low. Look around for another 2gb.
