Are you sure you know what are you talking about now? Console apps can be unicode or ANSI as well.. If you've been using just basic cout, you've been messing with ANSI, not unicode.

put L before the text codes.. L"first Program"

So how exactly would you compile it as ansi? Is it a setting somewhere on the Visual c++ compiler? Or do you have to use certain codes.

Change it to multi-byte
