| Sounds like either the drive or its controller is defective. If it's within warranty, take it back and get a replacement. You'll probably have lost all data on it anyway. If your warrant has expired, take it apart and remove the hard drive and connect it directly to your motherboard with a SATA cable as Luigi described. |

I can plug the drive into my Xbox 360 and watch all of my movies and view all of my pictures...
Anyway...
I took it apart, and removed the drive, but there is no way to hook it to my computer. The way my internal drive is hooked up, isn't the same way this drive hooks up, the cables are different, and the ones within my computer will not plug into the drive. Only one of the cables fits, the Slave one will not.

Now did you remove the controller that's connected to your external hard drive? Mind taking a picture of it?

Never mind this topic. I got so pissed last night that nothing would work, I lost my temper and formatted it. Everything works just flipping dandy now, now that all of my stuff is gone. I have the receipt, I'm going to take it back and raise hell until I get my money back. Even though it's like 4 months old.

After reading your topic I went apeshit and started saving money for my 1.5TB Seagate internal. I do not want this to happen.
My 'important' day to day shit [and games- I'm a big 'replay' person] makes up 60Gigs of this bitch. Along with photos and all my site information... I'd be fucked.
