People have 1.21a because they suck and use cracks.

i used to need the ISOs to play, then i patched it with 1.21 and i didnt need them O.o
now i patched to 1.22

Most people suck and play in 1.21a.

If you have patch 1.21b, after running the game only once with a cd/iso, you no longer need a cd/iso to start the game.
This was due to lots of people whining about broken CD's.
