Many (or not so many, actually) of you remember my old thread of "Ease of building a computer?" in wich i got answerers to how hard building a computer from pre-made parts would be. Thanks to all the people who replied, i am now going to build a computer myself. I even got someone to get a computer into my newegg shopping cart (Motherboard, proccesor, vid card, blah, more techno stuff, etc), but sadly, my $750 worth of computer parts vanished from my shopping cart the next time i went to newegg.com. So poor me is stuck without any knowledge of what companies produce what, and how well, or what dual channeling ram means, or if i should get a case that has green lights or blue lights =S.

So all you expert computer gods, please enlighten me and tell me the following (or more if you please).
(Keep in mind, i have a budget of 600-900 bucks here, so i don't need something like a 300 dollar case).
1. What company is best for:
A.Processor
B.MotherBoard
C.Ram
D.Video Card
E. Case?
F.Audio Card
G.Power Supply
H.Hard Drive

2.(Skip above request if you want, this will probably be more helpful to me)
What to look for in mentioned computer parts (Like Core 2 duo, or Seta (or sata?))

3. Is there any way i can recover my newegg cart? (The cart was put together on another computer)

Thanks in advance,

~Zaw

What about using nVidia's SLI Ready products? Just a thought. My friend's computer is build off them and his specs are crazy.

1. Intel
2. Asus
3. Corsair
4. Nvidia =]
5. Antec
6. Integrated works fine
7. Thermaltake
8. WD

Of course this is extremely general and there isn't one best part when you don't have an unlimited sized budget. We need of course more information and I'm more then willing to check this thread as you include information that is needed for a better build. The basics of course is what you need it for. Then we can build off that by suggesting video and ram cards and motherboard. Building off that is power and case and so forth.

What to look for, I don't really understand what you mean. You mean what company is the best? Again if you just want some kind of business home computer dual core is good, or if you want gaming, quad is better. We need information on that as well. General stuff to look at is processing speed and amount of RAM and type of motherboard. But if we have the necessary information, we can even suggest the parts for you and all you need to do is assemble it yourself.

I have no knowledge of this.

Photoshop
A browser open at all times

Just for kicks heres my current comp specs: (Why i really need a new comp)

eh man those are horrible specs, of course you need a new computer now.

To have Photoshop and gaming running, I suggest..

Cpu: Intel Core 2 Duo between 2.3 to 2.6 Ghz which is between 100-150 dollars
Motherboard: EVGA nForce 680i SLI Motherboard, about 150 dollars
Ram: Corsair Dual Channel 2 gigs, 30 dollars
Video Card: EVGA GeForce 8800 GT Video Card, bout 130 dollars, you can get two if you want for SLI
Case: go for an Antec 300
Hard Drive: . Seagate 250 gb. Sata btw is the connection that a hard drive uses to connect to motherboard
Power supply: 500 watt thermal take

This is just a very rough sketch though, I didn't do that much research on it.

It's $938, but you can use the $75 worth of mail-in rebates (there are 2 8800GTs, but only one rebate for the two of them).
