I need a good book to teach me C programming. It shouldn't be overly simplistic, and shouldn't say in 300 pages what could be done in 80. And if you could, can you tell me what the book covers?
If you have an online link to something that would teach better than a book, recommend it please, but most tutorials I see do not cover alot, and are just the basics.

A lot of people here recommend C Primer. I have never read it.
When you understand C and want to move to win32 C programming, read Programming Windows, 5th edition by Charles Petzold.

Thanks, blankrider, I think I have C primer, I will give it a try, and might buy it later. Hate ebooks...
Oh, and is objective C worth learning? I hear appalsap just detests it.

Just because someone that used to visit these forums dislikes something doesn't mean you shouldn't learn it. If you feel you want to learn it, or think you might find it helpful for certain projects, then by no means stop yourself just because of him.
I personally favor C++ over C, I use classes a lot as they are extremely helpful for certain projects. I find parts of OO to be very helpful in certain situations.
Choice is yours though.

| I just stated that he hated it because I wanted to know whats bad about it. Not like I have a choice, I'm taking a Java programming class in school when it starts again, and I cant change classes.

Yeah don't listen to fanboys like appal  . C++ can be really handy and you learn C at the same time.

Java is a fairly common course to be taken for programming when you are in college, most colleges will require you to take it if you plan to get into any division of programming. While I wouldn't really recommend using it for anything much more then your college courses, it is a language that can land you a job in certain fields.
