im designing a game

ill add abit that has flying
i wanted to do an ironman style
2 problems i have a how could i simulate fly if i press up and stay up if i keep hold of up
and
using different weapons and swapping to each one

Theres probably action script to check if a certain key was pressed. And then I'm pretty sure goto() in action script will take you to a certain animation/part of an animation.

Use something like

add event listener
if keyup = pressed (or w/e it is in flash i dont know by hard)
_level0.character._y += 1;

onkeyup != pressed
_level0.char._y -= 1;

and something like
if(_level0.char._y < _level0.ground._y{
_level0.char._x = _level0.ground._y
}
