So I tried to install a new one from the manufacturers website, and the driver doesn't work.

So any help, advice, suggestions would be great.

Oh! And my Pc's model is HP Pavilion a6244n.

Uhh, well umm you have no audio drivers installed, burn Ubuntu or Debian onto a CD, go into a live boot, open the terminal and type -ls (i think that is the command, ill find the real one soon).

This is the only way i found out my audio driver...

Now when people come in saying Why linux? Linux isn't the best blah blah blah.... It's just the solution i have used and worked...

BTW when you get the driver after doing -ls or ls it will be the audio driver manufacter. This is SPECIFIC! Usually you have to download a SPECIFIC driver for your SPECIFIC audio thing...

Okay i hope that made sense to you, that last part was a stretch...

You might want to run a virus scan.

I appreciate the help you guys are giving me Adam and Bam, turns out that my driver is still on my computer but for some reason it's not playing the audio through my monitor (build in speakers) even though it is the default audio driver.
