hey guys i installed ubuntu a few months ago but now i want it gone but ive been told the only way to remove it is to flash hard drive is there an easier way?

I don't know how you could uninstall it using a flash hard drive, actually.
Pop in the Windows disk, delete the partition, create a new partition and install Windows.

I think he uses flash in the same way as when you flash your bios. Linux uses a different file format to windows, so you do have to format.

Back up your important data to another hard drive, flash drive, or DVD disc. You should already be doing at least weekly backups if you have anything important.

Also the term you're looking for is format, not flash.
