|
|
Every game I have shows money the exact way we write it down. Example: $250.75.
When searching for this value I have tried 250, 250.00, 25000 (that's 250 x 100 cents to change it to all cents).
I have used every type of byte, float and double. It will find 250.00 using only 4bytes. After I change the value to say 275.00 in the game, pause the game and do a next search for exact value, I get "found nothing". I always get a "found nothing" whether using "increased by" or "increased".
What's wrong here? THANKS

float and double should be used for decimal point values.
you can type in 250.75 with those scans

GUYS: I have used Float, Double and a variety of Bytes. NOTHING! Take another look at my original post.
Recently I ran the money to 240.20. Using float, double and every byte availalbe, CE found nothing!
I then decided to use "Value Between" and searched for 242 to 243. CE returned six possible addresses, all with lengthy values to the right of the decimal. The closest was 240.1968534. Could this be it or should the exact value be found?
When I changed the money in the game, 240.1968534 did not change.

One of 2 things here.
1. Your not in the correct process.
2. Do unknown scans and has decreased until you find your cash.

I know this is an old post, but for those having trouble like myself. For some reason the developers of my program stored the money variable as a string example $25.32 was represented as a string "$25.32" I tried all other combinations of data types with no success but string returns exactly one result with the exact number.

did changing it have any effect, or was it just display only?
Is it an online game, because then it's normal it's display only
And have you tried scanning for 2532 ? Many games (civilization, kindergarten, southpark, etc...) store money in cents

It is an online game. So obviously I can't modify it it. I read it simply to know the gamestate. Which I guess is normal practice to store it as a string then.
I did try 2532 and it didn't work.
