i was just wandering if anyone has any ways of dealing with irrational fears of things...
or if they would like to share theirs.
i have this fear which sounds stupid but whenever i think of this shape which is a sort of looming arrangement of downward facing tri angles, i lose sleep and get a deep dreading in the pit of my stomach...
so as i said, any advice on dealing with this fear?

i would prefer it if no one mocks anything in this thread.
and yes this is a serious topic.

most of my fears are really strange, i can't really explain them... because they don't make any sence.
there before... i don't fears...even my nightmares are enjoined...some how... i think, i only fear that my family and friends can be hurt. ^^
But its not really something i can fear...but something i care about.

My only fear is my girlfriend dieing but like Hexodus said its not something you're afraid of its something you care about...

In my AP Psychology class my senior year of high school we had to do a 25-page research paper on a psychology-related topic approved by the teacher. I ended up doing mine on "scolionophobia," or fear of school. Lol. Needless to say, I actually had somewhat of a fun time doing my research paper, though I wasn't able to find more than a handful of qualified references.

my fear is kinda strange, im claustrofobic, but only in rooms in wich i can't move, so when i am in a small room im fine.
but for example i am going to wear a helmet for like snowboarding im going crazy i want it off, but the strange thing is, i dont have that unless i think about it.

I have no phobias or extreme fears.

Although i guess the only thing that scares me is the unknown.

I'm.... Not really scared of anything.
I mean sure you can startle me by appearing out of nowhere with a chainsaw and say boo, but that's just the brain reacting to sudden change.

The one thing I fear most is the thought of someone else, or more commonly something else, where I can't see it (usually in the dark), watching me from close by. Occasionally, in the night, something might fall from my desk or bookcase and even though I often know what it is, it scares me to death. The instant it happens, I always stop, close my eyes, and I don't move for the next hour or so (or until I fall asleep) in fear of turning around and opening my eyes to someone or something else staring me in the eyes.

I can probably safely say that that's the only thing I am scared of.

My only fear is cockroaches, height and sometimes being underwater - the frequency of the type of sound can really get to my head - it literally seems to get amplified like 10X

I have fear for heights (not really extreme but a little) and claustrophobia (but I'm working on it and I'm almost over it).

Completely irrational fear of needles. Don't know why, it never actually really hurt or turned out to be a bad experience, but can't help it. Have to look away, but I'm fine once it's in my arm.
