So now that I have been learning the language of Visual Basic and im getting fairly good at it I decided to learn how to make my program look good. Because a good program need performance and visual looks. So I made a GUI and called it Blue Sponge. I would like to know how it looks? and how I could improve it.

You don't design programs by adding a background image to it, you code the GUI.
But first of all, code the program, after you're done design it as much as you want...

I like it plain as well as a lot of other people. Bottom colorful GUIs are for little kids. Plain and simple GUIs make people feel more professional.

I think it looks really nice, I actually prefer that over plain. Most GUIs look horrid.

Who are you to judge anyone in learning anything?
@mageknight: I'm with slovach, I personally dislike GUIs with added content, graphics etc. depending on the project. Something like this is usually best left plain. If it gets to a bigger scale size project, adding a customizable skinning interface could be done, but you should always leave a plain state in your projects. |
I am not going to swear to you or anything, I respect you man but I have changed I did know shit already that time. Know i have read even more stuff and i'm even better. Could you just gimme some ideas to what to programm as I've been smoking so much pot I dont have anything left up there.

What GUI looks best?
Well... i think it depends on what application it is made for, A simple calculator, should have a clean background, but something like a MS bot, would be cool with a nice background picture
