yes you can hack multi player games in a way.

for example graalonline.com is a MMORPG of what ever.. alot of peopel play it and its rpg.. you can edit stuff for "your character" with cheat engine.. i use cheat engine and i love its performance altho the layout doesnt leave the best desire its still very powerfull.

using, packet editors i believe, you can edit other peoples information but this is not an easy thing to do. i dont know how to work a packet editor but i know some people that have and ive talked to them. wen the packet gets sent to graal's servers you just change the data being send from yours to someone elses.. this can also be done to change version info of programs.

lets say you have version 1.0 of somethign and need 2.0 to play. you can packet edit the data "1.0" being send to make it think its 2.0 but sometimes the encryptions make the 2 non-compatable.

btw:
cheat engine should so make a built-in packet editor.. lol

It very much dependson the game. - if all the character information (money, equipment, health info, and so on) are all stored on the server, then you can't really do much about it. Not without either bugging the game, or adding a serious "HEY IM TRYING TO CHEAT" sign to your avatar. Wink

You can always exploit the data being received serverside.

Example:

Server---
Receive money command(s). (encrypted)
Store new money amount. (encrypted)
Send money amount to player. (encrypted)

Client---
Send request to add/rem money. (encrypted)
Receive stored data. (unencrypted or encrypted)
Display current money. (unencrypted)

Soultion---
Crack the encryption and send your own packet to the server telling it to add money to you. Altho this is a VERY difficult task for some people can be quite easy if you know what your doing. A friend of mine cracked a games encryption with a friend of his and he was able to decrypt data and see how it is sent/received and encrypt his own packets and add money to himself.

of course, games that aren't programmed by idiots do the checking to add or remove money on the server, and don't look at data received by the player

Just find out where the server is located.
Hire a few people with guns and then go there.
While those people keep everyone else in the building 'busy' you can go to the server and edit your stuff.
