What I'm trying to cheat is some of these text based browser games, shit like hobowars or monstergames or any of those mafia games where you just click through, ya know the ones I mean? I've looked around the forum and haven't been able to find anything that helped with my specific problem, so if you could point me towards some tutorials, or make me look like a jack ass by showing me where on the forum this questions already posted (as I'm sure it is). Or if you know how to go about it, please, fill me in.

And just so no one else has to say it, YES, i'm a noob, NO, cheating at these games doesn't matter, NO, I don't have anything better to do. Laughing

im just guessing but I think that the money/health/mana whatever that crap is called, is stored in a variable even if it is a text based game. Try the standard variable search, and if that doesnt work try 2 byte, etc. If that doesnt work, search unkown initial value, lower/raide variable, and search for increased value. Keep doing that. IF that doesnt work, then right click the browser, view source, and find out what type of program you are trying to hack. If its flash, search variable * 8 (unless below flash8 Cool, if its java good luck.

alright i tried all of that but my exact value searches always turn up empty after the first scan (for instance 538 appears 10634 times on initial, decrease by 2, search 536, find 0) and the unknown initial value tends to be too broad, and i can never seem to narrow it down to what i want.
note: its definitely not flash.
now, what i'm thinking is that i may have better luck packet editing, what do you think?
