The jesus we know today is a mix of over exaggerated statements made by the church to make people cornvert~
Real Jesus = spiritual leader who helped people.
Jesus is in fact real. As real as any person recorded in history and thats something everyone has to accept or else you are just being ignorant.
Somewhere along the line we placed too much faith/trust on the church. eventually it got out of hand and now, here we are~

i wasnt saying anything about believe what i believe....
i was saying that based on historical documents...
if you want to deny something like history thats been recorded, then go ahead. but its just plain ignorance.

The bible is not meant to be taken 100% word for word, it tells how shit used to go down back in day as far as I know.
That said, where were you before you were born? I guess you didn't mind not existing for billions of years then.

middle ages, church basically used god as their source of income.
after that, its been countless amounts of convertions from one religion to the other.
before that, god actually carried meaning behind it, and it wasnt bragged about as much as it was after middle ages.

As far as moral guidelines go, I believe the bible to be a good start for children and perhaps some gullible adults. To me it gives off a vibe of a lot of fairytales combined with morals and rules to live a 'happy' life. Perhaps the concept of heaven and hell was meant to be interpreted differently. Something along the lines of:
"Live according to the bibles moral guidelines, and your life will be heavenly."
"Live without these moral guidelines and your life will be hell."
Or something gay like that.
