Wont you have problems with drivers? Cuz your laptop is made for Vista, so I doubt they made XP drivers for your laptop (sound driver, Lan driver, etc.)

Appalsap was on the right track. What you need is the driver for your SATA controller. Go the manufacturer's site for either your board or your computer if it's OEM, download the SATA drivers and put them on a floppy, pop it in and reinstall Windows, it should find it then.

If you don't have a floppy drive, PM me and I'll teach you how to slipstream the drivers onto your XP cd.

Either you've been under a rock the past 6 or so months or you're a noob. Windows Vista is an operating system made by Microsoft. A lot of people don't like it and think it's horrible (Like me) and they want to get rid of it.

Personally, I think he should have just gotten Linux, because it works on SATA hard disks.
