On the screen there were stripes and it froze. I restarted it but same thing hapen in like 15 sec after the desktop loaded. I turned it off for few hours and then noting showed up..The screen is all black and nothin happens, althrough the lights work and dvdrom opens. I tried connecting it to a TV/ Monitor and it was black too. Whats wrong with it? the motherboard broke? Is it worth repairing? how much would it cost?

sounds like the monitor, not the motherboard, if it was the mobo you wouldnt even see lights
i've never been able to open my old laptop to see whats inside since it has shitty screws that are fucked, so i have no idea how to help, all i can do is say have a tech look at it.
but if the laptops screen is dead, its probably pretty safe to say its no good. _________________

He said he tried connecting it to a TV, but the same, I think it's the motherboard. _________________

Try connecting the laptop to another monitor if you have a VGA out plug on the laptop. Most have one, or another method of outputting video to another source. Sounds like the monitor screen is dying. I had a similar thing happen to an old laptop before which turned out to be the screen going bad.
Mine looked similar to this:

Landed up having to out the other video output to continue using the laptop which eventually died anyway. _________________

If the other output source is failing too, sounds like a motherboard issue then.
(On a side note, you sure you told the laptop to output to the other source? Some require you to hit an Fn+F# key to change the source.) _________________

i had this same problem with my old ibm laptop. the wires that connect the monitor to the motherboard have probably become loose or even unplugged. either that or ur motherboard is fucked. if it is the motherboard that is actully the problem. fuck getting it fixed and just get a new computer. half the time it actully costs about the same to fix the motherboard as it is to go buy a brand new one. _________________

stop jumping to conclusions. have you updated your graphics driver or installed any programs that might have clashed with it? i screwed up my graphics driver a bit a couple months ago but a system restore fixed it. if there's nothing wrong with your hardware then i suggest trying to format your computer or something.
are you able to see anything when your computer loads at the BIOS screen? _________________
