i just bought a 160GB hard drive ( )
and i had to reformat (long story........)
and my pc only recognize 152 GB
any helpz0rz?

What kind is it? more information please?
This happens to most/all hard drives... some it is far worse (their computer only recognizes 50 percent of there HDD)
If there is no cure, just suck it up...

It has to do with differences in the way storage is measured, everything is fine.

the people are smart cause if a viruse trys damaging the hd it has a full back up ready.
also 8 gig is nothing of a loss

Erm..that's not why he's missing 8 gigs. Please, stop talking like you know shit.
Also, you have to manually back it up, and since he said he didn't, it's not a backup.

| you still have your full 160 gig hard rive but it just doesnt read, but you can put stuff on it still

and a 52GB partition and its like "unused partitiond space" 8 MB

when you format it leaves a bit..
i have a 160gb seagate and a 320gb western digital
my seagate partition is 158gb and wd is 312gb
