im confused too... cause if u use:
Call ShockwaveFlash1.SetVariable("_root.player.intHP", text1.text) or somethin like that, it dont work

It exactly won't work, the tittles says CE address into VB.
And what you're doing is just calling the flash's variable, which is out-of-topic.

If you mean the VB6 toolkit:
