Well, yes. But the 680i chipset is no longer future proof as it will not support the 45nm processor from Intel (Penryn)

Also seeing as he's buying a Quad, the 680i chipset doesn't really like it. I've heard many people complain about the 680i chipset and Quad overclocking. Just do a quick search on google. In my personal experience, I had no problem, I have the EVGA nForce 680i and I was able to get to 3.5GHz (stopped there, may go even higher) on air on a Q6600. But of course at the time, I didn't know about that, and bought that motherboard, if I knew what I know now, I may have chosen another motherboard. But it doesn't matter anymore as I'm getting (waiting to be released) another motherboard.

Actually, it was 3.6GHz, I ran 3GHz on daily use.

 At idle: 35, 30, 32, 37
 At load: 61, 58, 58, 57 (After 5 hours of Prime96)

I'm going to try to go farther then I receive (get released) my video card.

I'm planning for an upgrade in January.

@Daaamon, I REALLY suggest you to wait, because what you're getting now is not future proof.

I think I didn't mount the CPU heatsink well, because I saw a reviews of the heatsink used for a Quad Extreme and at idle it was only 27 degrees. I'll make sure it's well mounted on my upcoming build.

				| Is the heatsink lapped? I bought a Arctic Freezer 7 Pro because I was being stupid. Now I plan on lapping it to see if it helps. CPU and Graphics Card coming tomorrow, can't wait. | |

				| You are all preatty much wrong on the ram..
On Winxp 32-Bit windows will only recognize 2Gb of ram, having more is a waste cause the computer wont recognize it.

If its a 64-Bit system on Winxp PRO it will recognize up to 4Gigs.

It is quite obvious you don't have a clue how Windows handles RAM. I ask that you leave now (and take your lies with you).

				| You are wrong.
In a nutshell, in the 32 bit world:

 4,294,967,296 / (1,024 * 1,024) = 4,096

that's where it ends. You can't access any more (outside of nasty hacks and workarounds, that as far as I know, aren't possible in Windows)

Other devices eat into that as well. Once they've had their fill, you get whatever is leftover.
