Cheat Engine

After I configured the settings for cheat engine and pressed 'ok', an error comes out "You are missing the driver. Try reinstalling whatever engine, and try to disable your anti-virus before doing so."

-and-

"Failed starting the process watcher"

All I want is the unrandomizer and I have everything done appropriately. This might sounds like a weird way to ask a question but I feel that there's another point you guys need to note: I got this file from my friend, already installed, and not the installation file itself. Is it anything to do with that?

If this is not constructive, sorry, I'm new to CheatEngine, my friend introduced me here.

one file that cheat engine uses for the kernel debug mode is seen as a virus by some virus scanners. So, they delete the file. To fix it, either turn off the kernel debug mode or reinstall cheat engine and tell your virus scanner to ignore the file.

But the thing is, I didn't actually INSTALL// the file and let the antivirus delete the (whatever) file. I actually downloaded it through an FTP and so I think all the files are still in place. And besides, I have already turned of my Norton Antivirus, unless Norton Internet Security also affects the program. How do you explain this?

I don't use Norton, so I can't be sure, but the reason I don't use norton is because it sucks... IMHO... If you downloaded the map trough an FTP however, I think it's very likely that Norton Interenet Securyity scanned the file when you downloaded it and deleted it. I don't suggest you turn of your antivirus, that's kinda dangerous, but can't you tell Norton to ignore that single file? The file is called DBK32.SYS.

Erm, yeah I think I'm missing that file, I'll try to get it from my friend, thanks alot, but one thing is, I downloaded it as a .zip file and only unzipped it on my desktop. If it's possible for it to be deleted within the .zip file, then I think the virus scan @gmail also has the chance to have deleted it. Otherwise, thanks alot.

you can't send zip with exe's through gmail... but anyway, I never noticed virus scanner in gmail... It must have been norton...

Okay. Problem one solved. I got a file from my friend, even though it's not named like what you said it is, but the error no longer pops-up. Okay, so now I tried to do the stuff. I turned on my bypass, then the engine, and then I turned MapleStory on. When it had fully loaded, I tried to attach the engine to Maple. If I clicked the 'Ok' button, the engine just closes down. If I click the 'Attach to process' button, then some error came out "Attach Failure - Whatever engine failed to attach to the process. (Error = 5)" and "The thread that was supposed to attach the debugger to the process failed." If I double-click the process, the program just closes down. My friend said that it's normal for an error to occur and the engine close down once, and he also mentioned that the engine should be started up again and I will be able to attach it to the process. However, for me, the engine just shuts down time and again. What is the problem? Oh and by the way, the .sys file my friend sent me is called "whatever.sys" and is 27 KB, which I have already put into the folder.

ok, so you are using an UCE. The file is simply renamed to avoid detection, it's still the same file. As for the other error, I really don't know. I't's probably an error caused by the maker of that UCE. You really have to ask him/her.

If it's the problem with the file, yea maybe, but all my other friends are all able to use it without any problems, so I believe it isn't really a problem with the file but my settings or something like that >.< Thanks anyway.

well, then ask you're friends what settings they use... if they can do it, and you can't and it's with your settings, copying theirs should help...

I use all the same settings, so I think it must be the compatibility of my system. Man.... Spearman really needs unrandomizer and it's the only thing I'll use if I can ever use the program...

Hey I was also thinking if bypass would actually affect the program. Any idea?
