You're pretty close-minded if you don't see how it relates. I'm trying to show you how it's absolutely useless to debate the content in the conversation because it never happened. Perhaps if it actually had a unique perspective to it, but it really doesn't and everything said in there has been said before.

I think you have it all wrong. Whether or not the debate happened is irrelevant. Who said what is also irrelevant. The points made in the debate however, are relevant. Whether you find them unique or not.
Same goes for any historical figures such as Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, anybody you want to name (those just happened to come to mind), it doesn't matter whether or not their points, arguments, conclusions they've drawn are true or are even historically accurate, but the fact that the specific point of view has been made and should be considered when trying to discuss these sorts of philosophy. |
