Whenever I go to run the CE installer it gives me a

"Access Violation at address blah blah blah. Write of Address blah blah"

Any help?

i think i got something like that when i chose the wrong proccess

u sure it is right?
cuse if u want to go spesific with u may need to in some ocations
u click the little computer then click at the bottom the button that says windows list
that will give u a more exact way to find spesific program
that may be the problem and it may not

you probably already know, but check to make sure you have admin rights on the comp (or at least install rights) -- doesnt sound like it would be this, but you'd be surprised.

turn off virus scan temporarily, as it uses rootkit-like-functions and some files may be deleted during install (like on my comp -mcafee 8.0i enterprise-)

also, check to make sure its the right size. the current release is 3,602,452 bytes (note this is different than the size it takes up on the disk, windows XP will tell you both.) its 3.43MB, but if you're missing a few bytes it could be corrupt.


PS to everyone esp. darkbyte there is a mirror with a version that is only 1,730,092 bytes (1.64 MB) It is not a virus or anything, simply gives an error and ceases to run. Just annoying.

No, the installer access violation comes from the fact that he is running a online game on the background while trying to install cheat engine

I see. The only access violations i run into are when programs start to install, then can't continue because of user rights. I do a lot of domain-related work with user access levels so that comes to mind first.

Wish I could tell you which mirror it was, but i didn't really check.
