|
|
I found three data structures that show loot/drops of monsters on the floor in an isometric mmo.
They are very confusing and in order to find all values for the loot(Coords, item ID etc) I have to sometimes use a negative offset like in the image I attached to this post.
Am I right in thinking that i have something wrong if I have to use negative offsets like this to cycle through the loot data structure?
The game I'm creating a bot for has protection which will crash a disassembler if I attach it, so I can't find what writes to the data structures, but I can see them in CE still with the data structures tool.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried all the settings and Googled a lot. The game is using a method to crash debuggers.
Do you know anything about the negative offsets? Is it possible to cycle through the data structure using negative offsets? In the data structure viewer in CE the structure exists and when I expand the pointer it doesn't seem to show the full structure because I need negative offsets.

try looking around for new address, btw you are pointing to a string.
so i would say strings wont lead you to useful data.
as for browsing a structure, find the first address in that structure and let dissect data / structure do it work.
this will fix the pointers not expanding.
why you are taking the last address in that structure?
your point doesnt seems to be a valid one or the best one, try another address with different offsets.
