Hello,

I'm trying to make a personal undetected version of cheat engine, but I don't know how to "tell" to the cheatengine executable to load the dbk64.sys file with the name changed.
I managed to compile the .sys file just by renaming the variables inside Source.ce and Source (in the dbkKernel folder).
but whenever I start ce it keeps trying to load the dbk64.sys file, I've searched a lot inside the ce source codes I've renamed kinda every dbk64.sys I've found but it still doesn't load the right one. (probably I missed some)

So to summarize, I need to start cheat engine with the driver file renamed.

I've searched a lot in the web but I've just found an old guide about making ce undetected (that isn't working for recent ce versions) .

Hi,
I've already tried that method, but it doesn't work for me I've also tried to reboot, to boot with "unsigned driver mode".
It doesn't matter even with the standard ce 6.6 version it doesn't work...
Probably I'm doing something wrong.

btw I've seen a modified version of CE , that has inside the folder just the "lua53-64.dll" and the "dbk64.sys" files renamed to "zeki64.dll" and "zekixd.sys"

(plus the vmdisk and the vmdisk signature, and of course the ce 64 bit executable renamed as "zekixd.exe")

what is the exact error you get ?

tip: Before changing CE make the driver functional. Because then you know it's not one of your edits

Ok, to be sure that It's not my fault (about compiling and maybe wrong source codes that I've modified) I will try with the standard CE 6.6 release:

I do as following:

1) cheat engine is already closed

2) Run Kernelmoduleunloader.exe

3)Create driver64.dat filled with:
Code:
XDSomething
PList123
TList567
xxx1000.sys
76543210
fedcba98

and copy/paste it in the same path of
"cheatengine-x86_64.exe"
(cheat engine 6.6 folder)

4) I rename "dbk64.sys" to "xxx1000.sys "

5) I run the kernelunloader

6) I run "cheatengine-x86_64.exe" and an error message pops up saying
"The driver couldn't be opened! It's not loaded or not responding.
I recommend to reboot your system and try again (If you're on 64-bit windows, you might want to use dbvm)

try rebooting and run it again.

you're sure you havn't edited the .exe ? (the release driver refuses to respond if it doesn't match the proper signature)

I've just rebooted windows with the "unsigned driver mode" and I get the same error ( the message box appears for 3 times ) after that "cheat engine" window shows up.

I didn't modify the exe,
"cheatengine-x86_64.exe" last modified date is "saturday 08/10/2016 23:06"

I can't reproduce it, it loads xxx1000.sys just fine with a driver64.dat

remember that it should be driver64.dat (not driver64.dat.txt as windows is inclined to make it when you use a text editor)

Omg I found what's the problem....

I figured out that in every line there was a whitespace at the end (by removing them the problem gets solved)
Code:

XDSomething
PList123
TList567
xxx1000.sys
76543210
fedcba98

Probably somehow when I copy and pasted it in the txt file it gave me some problems :/...

Aniway thank you so much for the help!
